Bordeaux is one of the oldest cities in France. It is well known for the delicious wine and historic architecture. Bordeaux has some of the best museums that has some of the oldest artifacts that can be found from France. Not only is everything inside it historic – but also the building itself has some history and background.

The ‘Saint Michel’ church is one of the main landmarks in Bordeaux . The church and its bell tower were built at the end of the XV century. Its steeple, with 114 meters, is the second tallest in France. The tower was twice struck by lightning, and at the end of the XVII century a hurricane seriously damaged its structure. It was not until 1865 that it was repaired. This is the highlight of every trip.

If you come to Bordeaux , you should not miss one of the tours to the ‘Chateaux’. Usually these organized excursions visit a couple of ‘Chateaux’. In each of the ‘Chateaux’, they take visitors to the vineyards, to the barrels room and to a tasting hall. They will explain you how the grapes are harvested, how they store the grapes and how they bottle the wine. Finally they will let you taste some of the wines produced in the property. And last, they will let you buy some of the bottles you tasted.

‘Rue Philippart’ links the ‘Place de la Bourse’ with ‘Place du Parlement’. In the center of this latter square sits this beautiful neo-renaissance fountain. This square used to be the “Royal Market Place”. Currently many bars and restaurants have an open air terrace during the warm months. These authentic restaurants have a friendly atmosphere and some of the best food that you will taste in all of Bordeaux. Don’t forget to throw your coin in the fountain and hope all your dreams come true.
